What is Shopit PRO?
Shopit PRO is an upgraded Shopit account that allows its
members access to many features in addition to their existing Shopit
account. New features are constantly being added for PRO members. Some of the existing
benefits of the Pro account include the ability for users to receive instant
SMS notifications to their phone for new sales, offers and messages! Members will be updated with a summary of store
views and product clicks, sent right to their mobile phone. Best of all, users products
can be accessed by over 350 million users across the most popular social
networks; Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Bebo, Ning, AIM and many more!

How do I pay for Shopit PRO?
It’s simple. Users charge the payment directly to their mobile phone bill when they sign up. You don’t need a credit card, debit card, or bank account ID, just a cell phone. This payment system is compatible with any mobile phone that can accept text messages. You will be billed $9.99 (plus standard operator SMS/WAP/GPRS/UMTS or other applicable charges) each month and it will appear on your cell phone bill. No extra paperwork, new bills to pay, etc. This is made possible by a partnership with CellFunClub.com. In addition to your Shopit PRO membership you are also automatically enrolled in CellFunClub.com and have access to all it has to offer.
Your Shopit PRO membership renews automatically each month unless you choose to end billing at which time your access to PRO features will be terminated.

How can I import items into my store?
When you are adding items to your store, you'll find three options on the left side of the 'Add Item' page on how to import items from an outside source: eBay Importer Tool, Yahoo Importer Tool, and CSV File Importer Tool.

Something happened during the payment step; I’m not sure if it went through. What do I do? Who do I contact?
Confirming
your payment is easy. Once you submit
your cell phone number you will be sent a unique 4 digit PIN via text message
to your handset. Your PIN is unique to
your cell phone number and no two PIN are identical so unless you receive it
nobody else can sign up with your number.Once you
enter the 4 digit PIN online or reply ‘Yes’ from your handset to the text
message you receive payment is immediate to your cell phone or deducted from
your pre-paid balance. You will then receive a text message welcoming you to
the service within a minute.If you don’t

What fees do I incur by receiving these SMS alerts?
In addition
to your monthly fee of $9.99 you may incur standard operator SMS/WAP/GPRS/UMTS
or other charges apply. Check with your cell phone provider to see what plan

phone networks may restrict prepaid account holders from using premium
messaging service. Please check with your local cell phone service to check if
you can use this method.

What happens if I change phone carriers?
To confirm we have been notified by your carrier please contact us 800-617-4149 and we will update your account. Some carriers require that you
resubmit your information for payment confirmation.

Is there a separate login for Shopit PRO?
No,
you will have the same login as your normal Shopit account. You can login in
the same location with the username and password you had originally signed up
for Shopit with.

How do I make a counter offer?
You are only able to make a counter offer after an initial offer has been made to you. If the initial offer is not attractive to you, you can adjust the offer any way you like either by adding cash or more items to the offer. When you have completed adjusting the offer you can choose to enter a message, or simply send the offer by clicking ‘Submit Counter Offer.’

What if my offer is declined?
If your offer has been declined, it’s probably because the seller did not feel your offer was adequate to be accepted. Simply adjust your offer and resend it, or look for a similar item to buy or make an offer on.

Are transactions limited?
No, transactions are not limited Shopit operates as a free site that allows users to complete as many transactions as they like.

Can I make more than one offer at a time to different users?
Yes, you can make more than one offer at a time to different users, just click to add their items into the Trade Cart. You’ll be directed to the ‘Make Offer’ page where you can list the items you want to trade in exchange for the items you’ve selected from other members. Don’t forget you can put cash into the equation!

What if I’m not receiving any email notifications?
There could be several reasons why you were not receiving any email notifications:

Be sure to check your junk mail folder. Sometimes emails from unknown sources are sent to the junk mail folder by email providers

You may have turned off your email notifications in your privacy settings. Make sure that you select the appropriate settings that you desire

What if I’m not receiving any offers?
There could be several reasons why you aren’t receiving any offers:

You have very few items within your store

Your items conditions may appear to be poor in quality.

You have yet to properly promote your store.

You have no trading history.To fix these problems:

List more of your items, new or used. This allows others to select from a wider variety of items.

If your items conditions appear poor in quality they may not appeal to potential buyers. Make sure you add images of your items, so users know exactly what they’re buying.

Try joining more social networks, video sites and forums so that you can promote your store and video to a larger audience
[4A]
You’re just getting started so try to build your transaction history by making small successful transactions. Here people can rate and comment on you based on how you fulfilled your end of each transaction, so creating small successful transactions will increase your rating and provide you with an overall transaction history.

How often should I visit Shopit?
Visit Shopit as often as you like. Keep your store updated and looking fresh to optimize your experience. Visit other Shopit stores and build a network of fellow sellers to completely experience everything Shopit has to offer. When your account requires your immediate attention either because a new offer has been received or an item has been sold from your store we will notify you via the email address you provided.

Can all the other members and non-members view my store’s items?
Of course they can! Once you’ve completed registering and building a store, members and non members are able to view the items listed within your store. The only thing that won’t be viewable are your personal details. To further protect your privacy, members are limited by the Terms of Service with respect to other uses of this information.

Will my information be kept private?
Shopit is committed to protecting your privacy. We will not release any of your information to any third party for marketing purposes, and we will only use your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

What is the User Rating System?
Users are rated using Rapleaf, a universal rating system for buyers, sellers, and swappers. We’ve partnered with them to provide Shopit user ratings. Ratings are an aggregate of peer evaluations completed on each transaction. How do I buy someone’s item?
When you find an item you'd like to purchase click 'Add to Shopping Cart.’ The item will remain in your cart as you continue to navigate the site. When you are ready to purchase the item, click 'Checkout' in the Shopping Cart window to see the details of your purchase. At this point you’ll be asked to select a payment method that the seller accepts which is when you will be able to complete your purchase. (You’re also given the ability to perform multiple purchases at one time.)

How do I get started?
First, register at Shopit. Next, begin building your store by uploading all the items you want to sell. You can also list services, or just make a profile to promote yourself on Shopit. Once you’ve built your store, you can post it to all social networks you are a part of, as well as in emails and blogs!

Do I need to register?
You are able to browse for free without registering but in order to purchase or sell an item you must register.

Do I have to build a store?
Building a store is required if you plan to sell items of your own. It is not necessary to build a store in order to purchase items from other members at Shopit.

Do I have to post pictures of my items?
It is not required to post pictures of your items but by adding pictures you increase the chances of your items being sold. To make this easier for you, simply use our ‘Quick List’ located within 'Add Item,' which has millions of item pictures and descriptions ready for you to use.

If I can’t find the category for my item, what should I do?
First, place your item in the category called ‘Uncategorized.’ If you would like to have a category added to more suitably fit your items description, send us information on the items and category you would like added to support@shopit.com.

Are there any items that can’t be posted at Shopit?
Fire arms, drugs, pornography or any x-rated items or services are prohibited -- Any legally prohibited items cannot be listed. Shopit has the right to refuse or delete any items that we deem inappropriate. We reserve the right to remove or shut down any site displaying inappropriate material. How long will my items stay listed in my store?
Your items will be automatically listed for 45 days. However, you are free to select a shorter or longer listing period if you so desire and in case you forget when your listing ends, don’t worry - we’ll notify you by email!

Can I list services?
Yes, you can list services. However, Shopit has the right to refuse or delete any services that we deem inappropriate and we have the right to remove or shut down a site displaying inappropriate material. For more information please view our Terms of Service.

What is my Widget?
Your Shopit widget is a smaller version of your main
store that you can take with you to promote at the social networks you are a
part of. Your widget can also be inserted easily into your email signature and
blogs.

Do I have to create my Widget?
It is not required to create a widget but since it is
so easy and portable, why not create one and help promote your store everywhere
you go! Your widget is your avenue to increasing your exposure to help you sell
more!

How do I create my Widget?
To see your widget go to 'My Shopit' and look for 'Widget Options' in the left nav bar. You'll notice that when you add items to your store they are automatically placed within your widget. If you would like to customize your widget you can do so with a few clicks, changing the colors of fonts, headers, and backgrounds. Now you're ready to begin promoting!

How do I promote my Widget?
When you're ready to post your widget to all the social networks that
you are part of go to 'My Shopit' and in the left nav bar look for 'Widget Options.' There the Posting Tool can be seen on the last tab where all you have to do is enter your login information for that particular network you are a part of and it will automatically post for you so you don't have to enter HTML code. You can also use the GRAB feature located directly on the widget itself, it works just the same.

How do I copy & paste my Widget HTML code into social networks, emails and blogs?
On the last tab of the 'Widget Options' page titled 'Post' the very last selection will provide you with the HTML code of your widget to copy & paste. This can also be found by clicking on the GRAB feature located on the widget itself titled 'embed.' Now that you've copied it just go to your chosen website or email where you would like to
place the HTML, click ‘edit' in the menu bar and select ‘paste.' This will
work for both PC and Mac users.

Can I upload videos?
Yes, you can upload videos. Every member is able to upload a 10 MB video clip. It could be a video about your store, your items, or just about you!

Can I promote my store and videos anywhere?
You can promote your store and video to any site that allows you to do so. There are plenty of sites out there that do accept HTML, but here are some we’ve identified that definitely support your Shopit Widget; MySpace, Friendster, Hi5, Blogger, Xanga, Piczo, Typepad, and Tagworld. Just join and promote, it’s that simple!

How can I customize my Store Profile?
Customize your Store Profile by going to ‘My Shopit’ and in the left nav bar look for 'Edit Profile.' From there you have the option to change your font color, header color, and background color. If you know HTML all the better, you’ll be able to customize your page even further.

How do I make a cash offer for someone’s item?
When you find an item you’d like to make a cash offer on click ‘Cash Offer.’ Enter the dollar amount that you are willing to pay for this item and click ‘Cash Offer" again. Once confirmed, all you have to do is wait for your offer to be accepted.

When one of my items is purchased what happens?
The Shopit system is designed to manage your inventory, so when items are sold the quantity available of that item will be reduced by the number sold. If this was the last available unit of a particular item the system will display ‘Out of Stock,’ so be sure to keep your items updated! After the transaction is completed, the contact information for each party will be sent, and you will have to ship the item that was purchased.
